My husband Trevor and I make wooden artwork together (as Citizen Woodshop). The pieces we make are typically 30×30 or larger — all with metal backing and ⅝” thickness to get the organic material of wood (our preferred medium) to stabilize as much as possible. Working with wood as our medium deepens our work, as the grain dances with the designs engraved on top of it, adding another layer of depth.
Over the years we’ve learned more and more about how to use the most of our talents in projects. Working with corporate clients to custom design large “feature walls” is a sweet spot for our skillsets. We dance on the line of art + design while executing it all with fine craftsmanship and organization.
